The Healthy Kid Project

Launch Party: Sun. 10-11am

Join us for a family-friendly, kid-focused, launch party of The Healthy Kid’s Project. Noe Valley neighbor and founder Meagan Fishell will demonstrate to kids and parents how eating a healthy plant-based diet is good for our bodies and consequently good for our planet too.

We’ll have snacks, giveaways, a kid-friendly olive oil tasting, and much more.
The Healthy Kid Project was founded to introduce the concept of a plant-based diet to kids ages 6-10 with two goals in mind:
~Reduce our carbon footprint ~
~Increase the health of our children ~
Please join our community movement connecting kids to fruits, veggies, and the planet.

A few fun fall recipe ideas

before we go!

Tomatoes are in season and we’re enjoying every single one of them! Recently we’ve been picking them straight off the vine and roasting them in EVOO to create wonderfully delicious tapas, soups and gazpacho (this quick recipe from Delish is sure to delight!). Dazzle your taste buds with a splash of EVOO over your pan of roasted tomatoes or your soup bowl! Also here’s our very own OTOT heirloom tomato salad recipe.

Bon Appetite recently reminded us of an easy way to roast off some fall baked potatoes:
“Rub up your russets with olive oil, hit them a generous sprinkling of kosher or sea salt, and some cracked black pepper. Then place them directly on the rack of ripping hot oven. The skin emerges all crackling crisp, the interior all fluffed up, awaiting an absurd amount of butter, sour cream, chives (more subtle than scallions), and if you’re fancy like best-selling author Roman, a dollop of caviar.” Y.U.M.!
We also have a bounty of purple and green beans coming from the garden. Gently tossed in a pan with EVOO and sprinkled with our chili lime salt!
