May is here, school is ending and the garden is blooming! Ours is bursting already with English peas, strawberries, kale, lettuces, peonies, lavender–you name it! All these veggies invigorate the thrill of turning fresh ingredients into delights for friends and loved ones (and let’s not forget all the vital teacher’s we love!).

 
So pop open the rose, get in the kitchen and try out a few of these ideas!
 

Pairing of the month: 

 
If you’re a fan of lavender like we are—this delightful combination goes great over hard cheeses and salads alike. We love it over our smoke salmon and strawberry salad—a simple salad recipe which packs incredibly bright flavors in each bite!
 
 
Here in SF, we go to our local farmer’s market to purchase smoked wild salmon for this salad. The salmon’s smokey flavor goes great with the tangy lavender and lemon dressing combination. Simply sprinkle over your favorite salad base. We like including fresh sliced organic strawberries, roasted brussel sprouts and sliced apple for a delicious mix of flavor and crunch! Add in a pinch of our infused Chili Lime Sea Salt from Jacobsen to zing it up!
 
This pairing also goes great over ice cream! Also pair the Lavender Dark Balsamicwith Rosemary Infused Olive Oil over your favorite roast or BBQ favorites.
