The Life-Changing Loaf of Bread

It IS changing my life! Also a perfect pairing for our Good Fat, Bad Fat workshop this month. This is a gluten-free, vegan, good fat ‘bread’ that is so delicious and satisfying, you will want to eat it all day long. Sarah Britton’s blog, My New Roots, has been a favorite for a long time. So when her cookbook came out, I grabbed it and discovered this recipe. Seriously, I can eat it all day and on a busy day when I’m not eating proper meals or need a quick boost, this bread fills me up, is nourishing, and ridiculously simple to make. Get the recipe here.

The date has been set! This will be our fourth annual Olive Harvest: Tree to Table event. Spaces are limited to just 25 guests and we’ve sold out every year. After last year’s record-breaking harvest and yield, this year is looking like it’ll be more reserved. We’ll still have olives to pick and weather permitting, we’ll walk among the old growth trees with a local historian, experience the milling process, enjoy a wine tasting and celebrate the harvest with a special dinner. Olive Oil from Croatia is gaining international recognition. So we’re going (click the pic for a video)! I’m partnering with Travel Takes You and Sea Dreams for an olive oil themed yachting experience in the Aegean Sea. SeaDreams is a luxurious yacht for just 112 passengers (and 98 staff!). We begin our journey in Venice and conclude in Dubrovnik, visiting UNESCO world heritage sites and stunning ports. On board I’ll host olive oil discussions and activities and on land we’ll visit local orchards and restaurants connecting with families who have been producing olive oil for 1000s of years.
